New Player Guide

Welcome to Midnight Snack Survival! This guide is designed to help you navigate your first hour on the server and understand the basic systems available to you.

1. Your First Steps at Spawn

When you first join, you will arrive at the server Spawn. This area is the central hub for many of our custom features.

  • The Fishing Zone: Located right at spawn, this is the best place to start earning money. Look for the water area and start fishing to catch Special Fish or hook wild Pokémon.
  • The Fisherman NPC: Once you have caught some fish, find the Fisherman NPC nearby. Right-click him and place your fish in the menu to sell them for your starting currency.
  • The Battle Tower: This large building at spawn houses level-capped gauntlets. It is a great place to test your team once you have caught a few Pokémon.
  • The EV Dojo: Near the Battle Tower, you will find the EV Dojo. Use this to battle low-level NPCs specifically designed to help you train your Pokémon's stats.

2. Essential Commands

You will need these commands to navigate the world and protect your progress.

  • /rtp: Randomly teleports you into the wilderness so you can find a place to build your base.
  • /sethome : Saves your current location as a home so you can return to it later.
  • /home : Teleports you back to your saved home.
  • /spawn: Teleports you back to the main server hub.
  • /shop: Opens the server-wide item shop where you can buy Pokéballs and other supplies.

3. Protecting Your Base

Once you find a spot you like, you should claim the land to prevent other players from breaking your blocks or opening your chests.

  • Use the GriefPrevention system (often a golden shovel) to highlight the corners of your claim.
  • As you play more on the server, you will earn more "Claim Blocks," allowing you to expand your base.

4. Pokémon Essentials

  • Getting Pokéballs: You can buy basic Pokéballs in the /shop or craft them using Apricorns found in the wild.
  • Healing: You can find Healers at Spawn, or craft your own Healing Machine
  • PC System: Access your stored Pokémon from any PC block. You can craft these or use the public ones located at Spawn.

5. Progression Systems

The server rewards you just for being active.

  • Playtime Ranks: You will automatically rank up as you spend time on the server. Higher ranks unlock more homes, more GTS listing slots, and faster cooldowns.
  • Focus System: You gain "Focus" points by being offline or relaxing in spa zones. Use /focus info to see how you can spend these points on buffs like increased mining speed or better catch rates.
  • Discord Linking: Type /discordbridge link to connect your Minecraft account to our Discord. This allows you to chat with the server from your phone and syncs your ranks.

  • Check the in-game help menu by typing /help.
  • Ask questions in the public chat; our community is very welcoming to new players.
